The University of Oulu (UOULU) is among the largest universities in Finland with 16 000 students and 2800 staff members working in 8 faculties. UOULU is an international research and innovation university engaged in multidisciplinary basic research and academic education, encompassing eight fields of study: Humanities, Education, Economics and Business, Science, Medicine, Dentistry, Health Sciences, and Technology. UOULU is an associate member of EIT Digital, EIT Raw Materials, BBI Bio-based Industries Consortium, and has been involved in the EU R&D Framework programs since FP4, having participated in more than 250 EU projects and networks. UOULU’s research unit involved in this project is the Center for Ubiquitous Computing (UBICOMP) at the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE)- ranked, in scientific impact, the 1st among the Finnish universities in the field of ICT and electrical engineering. UBICOMP collaborates with renowned national & international stakeholders, and is involved in the cutting-edge 6Genesis Flagship Program.
Role within the project
UOULU will help develop an augmented reality tactical sandbox for better situation awareness when observing data visualisations.
